Planning vs doing!
This coming month my baby will be 1 year old!!! One whole year!!! Time has flown, but that's really not the point of this post :) So with her upcoming birthday (that she will not remember, yes I do know this but there will be plenty of pictures!) I want to do a party for her. I mean really...this is her first birthday ever...gotta have a party, right? I've spent plenty of time stalking others blogs and asking for ideas to have a cute fun, but not over the top birthday party for her. So now that I've gotten all of my ideas now is the time for doing! Making things and making sure things happen :) Easier said than done when you have an 11 month old tearing your house apart and getting into EVERYTHING! Not to mention if I pull out any craft stuff she thinks she needs to get into all of it. And while I wouldn't mind her playing with some of the stuff...scissors, freshly inked stamps, and paper that is not slobber and mouth friendly really are things I'd rather her not play with (EAT)!
So making cards, cutting out patterns to make cute pendant banners, and all the other cute things that I'm so excited to make is proving more difficult than not. So....all you mothers of toddlers...how do you get crafts done and not have a screaming child wanting to play with all of the craft stuff, or have your house turned upside down in the 1/2 hour you spend on crafts? I just can't figure it out. Illyana and I played a game today...she pulled all the toys off of the bookshelf followed by all of the dvd's, movies, and games off the shelf above it, and I tried to put them back as fast as she pulled them off. Guess who won? :) Me..but only because I got tired of the game after the third time around and picked her up and moved her with one of the toys to a different part of the room. I think I wouldn't have won if we continued to play the game :)
So anyway..stay tuned for the birthday post. Yes it's not until the 20th of Feb, but hey...who's kidding who...I just changed the background from a Christmas theme. While I LOVE to read others' blogs, I'm just not that great at it..so be happy with the times that I do post ;)
